DFG Architetti outlines the forthcoming project for a new multimedia and interactive pedestrian area in the heart of Ragusa, in front of the cathedral in the historic 19th-century town centre. The project was selected as the winner of the design competition organised by Ragusa City Council, with a view to the comprehensive regeneration of the entire area, and aims to create an original urban space – a place for the community to gather and interact – by harmonising, from an architectural perspective, the internal passageway linking Piazza San Giovanni to Via Rapisardi. The regeneration and enhancement of the area, in line with the guidelines of the Detailed Plan for the Historic Centre, aims to preserve the surrounding context and create a space for socialising characterised by high architectural quality, serving as a meeting point and hub for the Ragusan community.
