The swimming pool, with its glass wall, creates a surreal boundary between two opposing and incompatible dimensions; it generates a space in which the water appears as a solid suspended between an abstract equilibrium and the natural urge to return to a fluid state and flood the space. Air and water observe one another. The house thus enjoys a ‘domestic landscape’ that flows into the interior spaces in the form of colour and ornamentation, accentuated by lighting designed to complement the project’s lines and create ever-changing scenes. House DO is a place of escape and delight, where surprise sparks the imagination and creativity… in complete relaxation!
House DO
House DO is a cool, fun summer cottage. We have countered typological uniformity with a wild and exuberant spirit, which has found expression through some surprising details. The garden becomes a landscape: water spills over the edge of the pool to form a waterfall; monolithic slabs rise up towards the villa, resembling rocks shaped by time; and greenery permeates and defines the horizon.
