The project arose from a comprehensive analysis of the building as a whole, treating it as a single entity together with its outdoor spaces. For this reason, the works involved the refurbishment of a large part of the building, ranging from the reconstruction of the perimeter fence and access points to the interior spaces. The large access ramp to the basement has been replaced by a sumptuous staircase, adorned with lush flowerbeds and a lighting system integrated into the steps. Light also takes centre stage inside, enhancing the project’s contemporary and elegant lines, further emphasised by the use of shades of grey that break up the white architectural box, defragmenting and dematerialising it, as in a deconstructive interplay with a minimalist undertone. Similarly, the sensory perception of the spaces unfolds through the contrasts between smooth, pure, almost abstract surfaces, and surfaces which, to the attentive eye, reveal themselves to be vibrant, slightly rough and textured… The villa, nestled amongst the charming villages of the Castelli, has truly returned to being a treasure trove of life for its inhabitants and their guests.
