The project has breathed new life into a building that had by then reached the end of its life cycle, not least due to structural problems that were compromising the building’s stability. The new Dental Centre is a complex of facilities centred on the practice of Dr Giuseppe Decorato, a passionate professional who prioritises the comfort and safety of his patients. Every area of the clinic has been designed with the patients’ needs and well-being in mind; there are spaces for meetings and small conferences. In all private areas, such as the surgery and offices, and in all areas open to the public, additional high-quality spaces have been provided for relaxation, leisure and waiting.

Greenery is a central element of the design, both as a feature within the spaces and as the focus of the interior views. The use of large windows is a deliberate and carefully considered choice, maintaining a constant connection with the outdoor garden, the landscape and natural light – an element that promotes psychological and physical wellbeing and a sense of connection to the outside world.

The waiting room welcomes us into a world removed from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, where only the trickling water of an ethereal indoor fountain seems to bear witness to the passing of time. Golden filigree embellishes the luminous surfaces that enclose this magical space, where warm light, nature and subtle shadows are neatly arranged across geometric patterns, shaping the interior architecture of a truly extraordinary building.

Walking through the beating heart of the new dental practice is like stepping inside the face of a clock, where every element, every space, is part of a mechanism that must work perfectly in tandem with everything else, and you realise just how many solutions and ideas were needed to harmonise every aspect – spatial, functional, technological, and health and hygiene requirements with the aesthetics and beauty of this space, in an architectural design that has not overlooked even the anthropological, psychological and behavioural aspects of both medical staff and patients, to ensure maximum comfort when using every area and piece of equipment.

When nature is an integral part of the architectural composition, trees and plants become inseparable elements of the façades. Greenery climbs up the façades and becomes a focal point for both internal and external views. The architecture comes to life; it seems to move with the rising breeze and changes with the passing of the seasons. The interior spaces offer marvellous views, whilst outside there is a perfect harmony between the man-made space and the surrounding landscape.
