The premises are therefore primarily a flexible space, capable of adapting to constantly evolving needs and transforming itself according to the activities to be carried out. It is, however, a space specifically dedicated to teamwork, training, showcasing projects and technologies, and meetings, as well as social events, exhibitions, presentations and performances. The design adopted is therefore that of a large open-plan space, with almost no fixed elements, apart from the toilets and a technical area where a 1:1 scale cross-section of a building has been created, showcasing the most advanced technologies for energy efficiency and saving. The bathroom itself, however, has been treated as a large showcase, thanks to the glass-fronted shower cubicle which opens directly onto the open-plan space and offers a glimpse of a beautiful ante-room featuring top-quality finishes and furnishings. From the outdoor green area – which serves as an exhibition space or a multi-purpose area for special events – one then enters the reception area, featuring a bespoke reception desk designed to incorporate a prominent pillar and to provide as many workstations as possible. Upon entering, one is immediately immersed in the very essence of the space, characterised by a dynamic black ceiling, fragmented into wooden panels and sheets of electro-welded mesh that ‘expand’ the space above visitors’ and users’ heads and make it vibrate with a play of reflections and light. The first thing you notice, after the reception desk, is perhaps the space directly in front of the entrance: a green backdrop featuring a grass-effect floor and a green wall at the front, which serves as a venue for conferences, lectures and training courses. This area is often furnished with outdoor furniture and accessories to recreate an indoor garden, but it also features a large conference table designed specifically for the occasion and several rows of chairs for the audience. Within the space, one can sense the presence of a more functional area, characterised by large square tables for co-working, occasional workshops or cultural workshops – perhaps one of the most significant spaces in the premises, given its creative nature. Another corner dedicated to the display of cutting-edge materials and technologies is also of great importance, although the presence of bookcases and modular shelving – which can be used as display units or as room dividers – ensures that the exhibition areas and various spaces can be reconfigured at any time. Finally, it is possible to set up a small refreshment area, bar or buffet area for events such as cultural drinks receptions, exhibitions, presentations or conferences.
